Reclaimed wood – the journey.
To date not one new tree has been intentionally fallen to create the lumber used in Cassiar Cannery’s restoration as well as the handcrafted furniture. We beachcomb predominately red cedar and spruce that have fallen from natural causes. Landslides, water undercutting trees along the shoreline and a myriad of other events send complete trees into the Skeena River and into the ocean where hopefully, we will cross paths.
