Cassiar Community - Aileen Smith, Prince Rupert - she was 14 when she got her first job at Cassiar and hasn't stopped working since.

Cassiar Community: Lawrence

Cassiar Community: Elsie Morgan with her children Barb and Philip, Kitwanga. Elsie started working here in 1952 and her husband fished on the Cassiar 10, Cassiar 25, Ricky M, Miss Noel and more. Elsie washed fish, made boxes and worked the reform line. Philip and Barb grew up at Cassiar and really miss the rope swing. Philip fished for Cassiar from 1972 to around 1977.

Cassiar Community: George Yamamoto (Prince Rupert) 27 years of keeping Cassiar functioning is back at work at Cassiar in May 2011 sharing his considerable expertise with the younger generations.

Cassiar Community: Frank Benson (Kitwancool) - fisherman - arrived at Cassiar Cannery when he was 7 during the 1940s. Frankie has the best jewellery and the biggest smile on the Skeena. Photo taken during the Spring opening on the Skeena in 2010.

Cassiar Community: Georgina R. Martin (Gitanyow). Daughter of Peter and Eva Martin, Georgina started fishing for Cassiar at age 10 as a deckie on her dad's gillnetter 'Crystal Blue'. In 1969 she started working in the cannery washing fish and packing fish in the freezer. Georgina had a great time at Cassiar and really enjoyed all the people from the Skeena, the Lower Mainland and around the world that came to work at Cassiar every season.

Cassiar Community - Cecilia Morgan (Kitwanga) - a member of the Morgan family. Her father was a fisherman on the Cecilia Christy.

Cassiar Community: Bob Blair (Calgary). My wingman and mentor Bob Blair passed right before he was planning to move to Cassiar. An uber-Canadian and brilliant businessman, Bob traveled to Cassiar regularly and was partnering with us on developing Cassiar's primary business. Bob's spirit is still at Cassiar as he found Cassiar to be a remarkable place!

Cassiar Community: Karen, Trudy and Kathy Bright (Prince Rupert, Terrace, Prince George). This trio of lovely ladies lived at Cassiar year round from 1960 through 1978. Their mother was a netwoman and their father a fisherman on Cassiar 7(?). All three sisters started working in the cannery at 14 on all sorts of jobs. We are looking forward to their return for more stories.

Sport fishing, North Pacific Cannery Museum, a National Historic Site, government marina with boat launch and a general store with marine fuel, fishing licenses and bait within 15 minutes. Most other essentials are readily available less than 30 minutes away in Prince Rupert.
